New research reveals 55% of 18–24-year-olds quit their job during the pandemic because it wasn’t meaningful enough, whilst 40% believe a job that allows them to monetise skills or hobbies is more important than one with higher pay, according to Airtasker, the trusted
marketplace for local services.
Since the pandemic, Brits have sought more flexible work arrangements, and this has prompted 77% of Gen Z respondents to take on a regular side hustle.
More than a third of respondents believe online skills-sharing marketplaces, such as Airtasker, will play an important role in the future of work, enabling young Brits to offer their skills and easily connect with people in their local community who need tasks done.
