Hello ,
Is it just me or are you getting angrier each week at the way we're being fleeced?
As if energy bills more than doubling and petrol prices soaring weren't bad enough, the food issues are really starting to bite now. And I don't trust what we're being told about it either.
Something smells really off and I'm not talking fish...yet.
Have you seen the news about all those food processing planet 'coincidentally' being burned to the ground in America? And this supposed bird flu that is forcing farmers to kill chickens and massively reduce our supply of eggs. Frankly I think there's something else going on. So do the journalists at Off-Guardian who have
noticed signs that a food crisis is being created for us. It makes interesting reading.

Food is going to be the next big issue this year which is why we're writing and talking more about it. We have LOADS of articles about getting cheap food, free food, being paid to eat food and more, as you can see here.
On Friday I did an IG Live with Mark Breen from the charity Hubbub, going through all sorts of money-saving food tips while he cooked a tasty but cheap dish.
Keeping on the food theme, our latest article this week is how to be gluten-free on a budget. We also show you how you can get paid to eat brunch (yes really!) and
how ASDA and Morrisons are cutting prices to help customers (and get ahead of their competition..., let's be honest!).
Oh, and of course we have our campaign to make Freeganism legal which is still ongoing. That really needs to be sorted asap so that supermarkets can properly allow anyone to have food that they would otherwise have to throw away. Do sign our petition here.
We also have info on where to get free money this month and Jane, our frugal blogger, has her latest column full of tips for entertaining the children for less.
Phew, not a bad collection of money-savers, freebies and money-makers eh?
Also, as of tomorrow: May the Fourth be with you :-)

With inflation and the cost of living on the rise, cutting back and saving money is becoming a priority for many of us. If you have a family, keeping the kids entertained is a tricky task at the best of times; when you are tightening your belt it can feel even harder. However, living frugally doesn’t mean your children have to miss out and feel deprived. By doing things slightly differently and using your creativity, you can make memories and enjoy life on a tighter budget.
