Hello , It's Giving Tuesday today. Did you know? Probably not as - surprise, surprise - it doesn't get anything like the coverage that Black Friday and Cyber Monday get. It's like Thanksgiving, which I think is a great idea, but we pretty
much ignore it here in the UK, although we happily embraced all the commercialism and horrors of an American Halloween! Ho hum. Such is society. But you and I don't have to be like that. We can get stuck into Giving Tuesday by giving in whatever way we can. Imagine a whole day where you do nothing but give to others with your time, your expertise, your smiles,...even your money! That would be a sunny day for sure 😄 It really doesn't have to be about money, today, just make it about giving in whatever way you can. I have a favourite hymn that has the lines "Each smile a hymn, each kindly deed a prayer...each loving life a Psalm of gratitude." That's a good thing to aim at! |

Oh, and if you do have a bit of spare cash to give to a good cause, and you'd like it to go directly to that good cause and not to paying for a posh office etc for a big charity (so many of the big charities spend vast amounts on employees, offices, company cars etc) then I suggest Acts435. With that you donate money directly to people who really need it who have been recommended by a debt charity. None of the money goes to Acts435. They run the operation purely on the GiftAid attached to your donations. It's also actually enjoyable to give money to an individual (who is anonymous) where you know a bit of the back story. Worth a look.
