Expert Reviews has revealed the winners and losers in its annual Energy Awards, with Octopus Energy retaining its title as the overall winner and emerging victorious in all four of the other categories. 

Working in partnership with YouGov, Expert Reviews’ Energy Awards survey asked consumers from across the UK to rate their suppliers for customer service and value for money.

The government have made a U-turn on a plan laid out in the mini budget.

In the recent mini-budget, announced by Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng, a plan was announced to scrap the 45p income tax rate. This is paid by those earning more than £150,000 per year. It was announced as part of the largest tax cutting announcement in decades. 

Supermarket giant Tesco have said it is planning to cut more than 300 head office jobs in order to save money. This comes at the same time shop workers are receiving a pay increase for the third time in 13 months. Tesco, which is the UK’s biggest retailer, said it is aiming to make savings of £500 million this year.
