Hello , As we all settled down on Sunday night, hoping that the kid from The Goonies would get his Oscar (he did!!! and what an inspiring speech: "Dreams are something you have to believe in, I almost gave up on mine. To all of you
out there, please keep your dreams alive"), the world banks were in freefall and we woke up to the story on Monday that Silicon Valley had crashed. The news that HSBC has bought up the UK branch for £1 has alleviated this for the UK, but raises huge concern over the financial world in general as we anticipate bank crashes and wonder, "is this another 2008?" If you want educating in a very basic way about what happened in 2008
(and taking us back to my Oscars spiel) we recommend you watch 2015 Oscar-winner The Big Short. Whilst described as 91% accurate, with a little dramatisation, it highlights the terrifying vulnerability and reality of of our financial system. |

So, whilst we start the week with some potential fear (not something we enjoy reporting one bit; we far prefer solutions to problems over the fear-mongering of the mainstream media), we owe it to you all to explain these home truths. But we do so with our usual aim to help and educate. I should add, this Sunday is a special day for all the mothers out there. The mums, stepmums, mums of angel babies, mums who can't conceive yet and even the pet mums: this is a day we celebrate mothers and the woman who brought us onto this planet and the women that nurture.
