Hello , First and foremost I want to thank all the hundreds of people that reached out to me the last time I wrote to you. The team and myself are answering multiple enquiries per week and working through the best way to help you all. So
thank you for taking the time and recognising the sincerity with which I asked what help you all needed during these trying times. Secondly, I want to update you on all the things we are working on at the moment. Based on your requests, we are pulling together pages of deals, food deals and ways to save money every single week. Saving money and being able to still have a life seemed a huge need - so you asked and we provided. |

Now onto our weekly newsletter fun: we are so happy to hear that Morrisons are offering "Ask for Ellen" - a way for families to not have to
announce they are struggling to ask to be fed for free. It's great when supermarkets recognise that it takes guts to ask, and deliver these things in sensitive ways. There are also a lot of people at the moment absolutely panicking about the state of the housing market. With so much noise about the instability of the buyers' market, we ask the experts: Is now a good time to get a mortgage - or should we wait? A certain broadsheet article had me absolutely reeling last week. The headline was: "Generation rent are forgetting how lucky they are" - I personally am in absolute horror at how tone-deaf this is in the current climate. The only person who
could possibly think that renters are "lucky" are surely house owners! I struggle to see many positives myself - a roof over our heads is huge, but that's like comparing low wages to starvation - I feel there is a middle ground and this is something that we explore, whilst weighing up the truth about renting. This topic has generated so much
debate over at MoneyMagpie HQ that we are going to host a webinar on the subject over the coming weeks. So keep your eyes peeled for that. What are your views on this? Comment on our article and let us know. Whilst some countries have a fairer rental market, are we really there in the UK, and can we honestly claim that a renters' market is preferable to owning? Have a fun week and try and stay dry. I am really keen for some more sunshine so I can get the BBQ on and soak up some
Vitamin D. Stay safe. Vicky Parry - Head of Content at MoneyMagpie xxx |

‘Ask for Ellen’ launches to offer free crumpets this summer
|
Being away from school means free school meals are put on pause and costs can stack up for parents. Food, energy and entertainment costs for six long weeks can put a strain on our wallets. Previously, Morrisons partnered with Heinz for the campaign ‘Ask for Henry’, where people could get a free meal of a jacket potato and beans. Now, Warburtons has partnered with the supermarket giant to launch ‘Ask for Ellen’, to give support to families throughout
the school break.
