It was quite a do though, apart from the nosh, and I had a good chat with a few politicians and their private secretaries, one of whom told me that the real reason why Sunak called the early election was that letters were already coming in from the 1922 Committee to kick him out. So he went before he was pushed. It was a surprise to me, as I thought
he'd done it because inflation is down (not that you'd notice), the sun's out (sort of) and this was the best time to do it. Turns out, he was just pushed. But on the subject of inflation etc, do make sure that you keep an eye out for good 12-month deals on your gas and electricity as the price cap will come down in July and then go up again in October. Get yourself
a good fixed deal while you can. There's lots in the news about what the election could mean for your money and neither side has great news, frankly, which is why we are getting even more serious about making sure you have a decent pot saved up for your retirement. For starters, I'm doing a FREE webinar on
Monday June 10th (next Monday) at 12.30pm about one of the easy ways to get into investing. It's all about Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) and how to make money from them. We have some expert investors on the panel and you will be able to ask any question you like of them. Sign up for free here. We also have articles on how to invest
in undervalued stocks and we're asking if now is a good time to invest in buy-to-let. So dip your toe into some clever investing ideas to start to build up your wealth. And while you're at it, why not make some money doing nothing? Who wouldn't want that? And, like me, get ahead for Christmas. Nothing like being smug about your Christmas shopping before Autumn starts! Very importantly, we are back with one of our fantastic month-long giveaways. This time it is "30 days of summer" - so make sure you click every day and walk away with some fantastic prizes. Enjoy your week and I hope you get some lovely sunshine! Love Jasmine x |
