Hi ,

Are you making the most of the sun? Come on, it might be the only sunshine we get! It's picnic time - I had a lovely home-made picnic at the Bluebell Railway this weekend and it was wonderful in the sun. Do get your picnic things out this weekend, even if it's just in the garden - it's a great cheap way to enjoy the sunshine.

But before you rush out in your bikini, do some of that dull but oh-so-necessary stuff like getting your ISA money in before the deadline (I go on about it again below), topping up your pension before the end of the tax year and (more excitingly) grab our FREE travel money card from FairFX. It's a very safe way to take money abroad, has good exchange rates and no loading fees....ooh, and did I mention it's FREE for Moneymagpies??

THE ONE THING YOU MUST DO THIS WEEK

Make sure you use your ISA allowance!

There's barely a week to go before this year's ISA deadline - and if you don't use your ISA allowance (I can't stress this enough) you're missing out!

ISA returns are free of income tax and capital gains tax, and as the deadline looms the banks have suddenly become more generous with their interest payments - so if you already have money in an ISA with rubbish interest rates, now's the time to switch!

Below are the three questions we keep getting asked at the moment:

Q: What's the top cash ISA that allows transfers in?

Santander's Direct ISA offers an impressive tax-free interest rate of 3.30%, and allows you to transfer across existing cash ISAs. It also allows unlimited withdrawals with NO penalties, so you can access your money whenever you like.

Make the most of your savings - get the details here.

Q: I'm not sure where to begin with ISAs.

Then you need our FREE guide.

If you've never opened an ISA before it explains exactly where to start. If you already have ISAs which aren't performing, it shows you how to achieve far better returns.

Packed full of easy to follow tips, it will show you:

Q: I'm thinking of using the tax benefits of an ISA to invest in stocks and shares. But where do I start?

If this is you, then you also need our second ISA guide. The first guide (see above) will help you reduce your tax bill and get the most out of your ISA.

This guide from the experts at Best Invest (who were voted self-select ISA provider of the year by the Financial Times) will give you advice on:
  • How to choose ISA funds
  • How to invest, and
  • Show you some of the top ISA picks.
Again it's completely free - click here to get your copy.
