Meet Benjie. Isn't he a lovely boy? He's the latest addition to the MoneyMagpie team and we love him! He belongs to our publishing editor, Marc, and he's a very good boy (and already getting clued-up about money as he sits next to Marc all day, so he must be picking something up along the way!).

 

Our other good news is that you can make even more money from selling your old tax discs than you could before. In fact, if you have some lying around in a drawer you could just keep them and see how much they go up in value later on. Isn't it amazing what people will spend their money on!

 

What's also amazing, in a bad way, is how many new scams we have to suffer each year. The current favourite is 'smishing' where you get fraudulent texts like those ones saying you've got a parcel delivery, and we've got a piece today warning you about 'money mule' scams which you must keep away from.

And finally there's some equally useful information about the economy from respected economist Frances Coppola. I asked her to write about what she thinks the economy will do in the next year or so, partly in response to the interview we did with Jennifer Arcuri a few weeks ago. Frances has a different view of how things will work out so it's worth comparing the two. Read why Frances thinks it's a 'remarkable recession'.
